Attending any industry conference is an investment financially and in your time. It can be expensive for both you and your organization – especially if you don’t make the connections and meet the people you need to. Learn how to spend a little extra time planning your networking to receive even bigger benefits for yourself and your employer. Join us Tuesday, June 14 at 1:00 PM EST for a FREE webinar on networking tips and a template to help you make the most of the FSAE Annual Conference.

 

Here are some basics to be thinking about now:

  1. Look through the list of speakers and decide who you want to meet.

     

  2. Think of 2 other people that you should bring together while at the conference. Copy them both on an email now and tell them you will introduce them at the conference. Karma works great in networking.

     

  3. Set a personal target for the number of business cards you will bring home. Seriously.

     

  4. Pick a networking partner before the conference and make a plan to attend and work the conference networking events together.  

     

  5. Look through the registrant list and choose at least 5 people you intend to reconnect with and 5 people you intend to meet for the first time.

    The Qualified Association Specialist (QAS) Certificate Program provides anyone in the association industry, including CEOs, a broad base view of the key elements in running an association.

    The QAS program has gathered seasoned experts to present a comprehensive overview of the many facets of working in or with an association - from the legal and financial "business model" of associations' unique governance/volunteer structure, to understanding the key principles of membership, communications, events, social media/communities, non-dues revenue programs, public policy and data management. These industry leaders share their knowledge with you through 12 online modules, approximately an hour each.

    The Qualified Association Specialist (QAS) Certificate Program provides anyone in the association industry, including CEOs, a broad base view of the key elements in running an association.

    The QAS program has gathered seasoned experts to present a comprehensive overview of the many facets of working in or with an association - from the legal and financial "business model" of associations' unique governance/volunteer structure, to understanding the key principles of membership, communications, events, social media/communities, non-dues revenue programs, public policy and data management.     Here are some basics to be thinking about now:

    1. Look through the list of speakers and decide who you want to meet.

       

    2. Think of 2 other people that you should bring together while at the conference. Copy them both on an email now and tell them you will introduce them at the conference. Karma works great in networking.

       

    3. Set a personal target for the number of business cards you will bring home. Seriously.

       

    4. Pick a networking partner before the conference and make a plan to attend and work the conference networking events together.  

       

    5. Look through the registrant list and choose at least 5 people you intend to reconnect with and 5 people you intend to meet for the first time.
