Key Networking Tips and Tricks Webinar
Recorded June 14, 2016 1:00 – 2:00 PM EST

Presented in Partnership with the FSAE Young Professionals Task Force

Speaker: Peter Wright, Association Hub

Attending any industry conference is an investment financially and in your time. It can be expensive for both you and your organization – especially if you don’t make the connections and meet the people you need to. Learn how to spend a little extra time planning your networking to receive even bigger benefits for yourself and your employer.

Here are some basics to be thinking about:

  1. Look through the list of speakers and decide who you want to meet.

  2. Think of 2 other people that you should bring together while at the conference. Copy them both on an email now and tell them you will introduce them at the conference. Karma works great in networking.

  3. Set a personal target for the number of business cards you will bring home. Seriously.

  4. Pick a networking partner before the conference and make a plan to attend and work the conference networking events together.

  5. Look through the registrant list and choose at least 5 people you intend to reconnect with and 5 people you intend to meet for the first time.

The On-Demand program is eligible for 1 Hour CAE credit. Take the quiz after the webinar to receive your certificate.

Shirley DavisSpeaker: Dr. Shirley Davis, CSP

Never before has inclusive leadership been more important than it is today. Recent research reveals that inclusive leaders create inclusive work environments. Inclusive work environments produce higher performance, increase employee engagement, fuel innovation and creativity, increase retention, and positively impacts the customer service experience. The ability to lead across differences, create a culture of belonging, inclusion, and high performance will be a key lever for attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent, new customers, clients, members, and donors. This kind of leadership requires new competencies, skill sets, and strategies.

In this engaging and interactive session, Dr. Shirley Davis,  will highlight key demographic disruptions and their impact on employee performance, satisfaction, and retention. She will guide participants through a model called the 6 C’s of Inclusive Leadership, reveal the most common pitfalls that leaders should avoid, and describe key competencies and skills needed today and for the future workforce of 2030.

Collapse The Paradox of Potential Webinar

Presented by FSAE Young Professionals Task Force

    Speaker: Thom Singer

Having “high potential” does not mean performing at maximum capability. While many believe they are doing all they can, a huge number of professionals are frustrated because they are coming up short of their personal expectations (and the expectations of others). Some have become paralyzed from taking risks by the fear of failure, while others are not sure what is holding them back.  Thom Singer has surveyed hundreds of people and the feedback is stunning that the majority of people are confident they can have greater success in their career.

Companies in all sectors have employees who have reached a plateau or have become stuck in the “high middle”.  There is a very real gap between potential and results, and Thom wants to show people the path to doing more at any stage of their career. Beyond excuses and finger pointing, this interactive presentation gets to the heart of how people can accomplish more and enjoy their work.

    • Identifying personal gaps in potential and results

    • Cultivate an understanding of what is holding you back.

    • Realize the steps one can take to move closer toward their career potential.

    Non-Member Rate: 295*

The Qualified Association Specialist (QAS) Certificate Program provides anyone in the association industry, including CEOs, a broad base view of the key elements in running an association.

    QAS Partners

The QAS program has gathered seasoned experts to present a comprehensive overview of the many facets of working in or with an association - from the legal and financial "business model" of associations' unique governance/volunteer structure, to understanding the key principles of membership, communications, events, social media/communities, non-dues revenue programs, public policy and data management. These industry leaders share their knowledge with you through 12 online modules, approximately an hour each.

The QAS program qualifies for 12 CAE credit hours!

The program is self-directed and the platform guides you through each module. We've included a "Credit" and "Help" tab in the portal that can answer questions on advancing to the next section as well as accessing your Qualified Association Specialist certificate.

If you have additional questions about the QAS program, please visit www.associationspecialist.org.

*How to purchase the program as a Non-FSAE Member
Click the Login button to the left and Create a New Account. You will need to do this if you are not an FSAE member - even if you have an existing Peach New Media account. Return to the Login screen after creating your account. If you have difficulty accessing the account registration, please click here.

After logging in, add the QAS program to your basket. Since you are not a member of FSAE, the program will default to the non-member rate. If you have a coupon code from FSAE or a Partner SAE, enter it in the Basket screen to reduce your purchase price.
